2004 Commemorative Edition Corvette For Sale

Special editions are nothing new to Corvette fans, but this 2004Corvette Z06 Commemorative Edition offers a lot more than specialpaint and graphics to go along with its limited production status(only 2025 were built). Starting with a burly 405 horsepower LS6,it's a near-seamless blend of awesome good looks and hardcoreperformance. The 'fixed-roof coupe' was a late addition to the C5 lineup, ostensibly to provide a platform for the take-no-prisoners Z06model. Lighter, stiffer, and stronger, it was the ultimateexpression of Corvette performance. The Commemorative Editioncelebrates back-to-back wins at Le Mans with special Le Mans Bluepaint and graphics that emulate the C5R models that were used onthe track. In short, it's tasteful and attention-grabbing withoutbeing over-wrought like some earlier special models. With 82,766original miles, it has obviously been in the care of true Corvetteenthusiasts since it was new because it looks more like 12,000miles.

Finish quality is extremely nice and all the Z06 details arethere, including the mesh screens on the nose and the brake coolingducts just ahead of the rear wheels. This is one Corvette thatwalks (relatively) softly and carries a big stick. The only interior you could get with a Z06 was black leather, butthat's just fine with us since it looks so impressive. TheCommemorative Editions received special embroidery on theheadrests, but otherwise it was standard C5 fare, but that alsomeans it's comfortable enough for cross-country travel and spaciousenough for all your gear. Everything works as it should, includingice cold dual-zone A/C, power windows, locks, and driver's seat, and a replacement Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo system (the factory headunit is included) feeding the original Bose speakers. There'sminimal wear and certainly it's in line with the mileage, and thecarpets have been protected from new by a set of matching blackfloor mats. The Z06 also offers a good-sized trunk that's fullylined in black carpet, meaning that you can use this Corvette likea real car should that be your intention. Experts will note thatthere's a bulkhead between the trunk and the passenger compartment, which is designed to keep the A/C up front where it belongs, a nicetouch! The Z06's LS6 V8 made a very stout 405 horsepower in stock form, which was a pretty big number back in 2004.

The LS6 is easilyidentified by its bright red coil covers, and while the C5 wasinsanely easy to modify, this one appears to be almost entirelystock. Stock performance cars are usually well-maintained and notabused, with this one being no exception. It starts quickly, idlessmoothly, and pulls hard, and everything works as it should. World Wrestling Entertainment. Again, careful maintenance means that the engine bay looks almost new andit's worth noting that these cars wear the first mass-producedcarbon-fiber hood to shave pounds. The standard 6-speed manualtransmission shifts crisply in the heat of battle and the stockexhaust is made of titanium, so no need for an upgrade there.Beautiful chrome Z06 wheels look fantastic against the LeMans Bluepaint and carry stock-sized 245/45/17 front and 275/40/18 rearMichelin radials with fewer than 250 miles on them.A very impressive machine with all-around performance, this is arare and civilized Corvette at a very reasonable price.
